Diabetes Centre

The Diabetes Centre in Tampere is the national headquarters of the Finnish Diabetes Association, housing the Central Office and the Education and Training Centre. The Diabetes Centre has a beautiful location on the shore of Lake Näsijärvi in the community of Aitolahti some 25 kilometres from Tampere city centre.

Built in 1980 and expanded and refurbished in 1993, 2008 and 2012 the Diabetes Centre today provides courses for 1 600 people each year and employs about 60 staff.

Facilities for course participants at the Diabetes Centre:

  • 25 twin-bed accommodation rooms
  • a dining hall seating about one hundred guests
  • a 56-seat auditorium and rooms for team work
  •  a gymnasium
  • sauna facilities with a swimming pool

The grounds include a tennis court, a camp-fire site, a lakeshore sauna and a beach for swimming.

The Diabetes Centre is open Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 13:00.
